The Grid Integration Group studies the infrastructure that is compatible with requirements of electric system grid operators and electric utility companies while serving the loads and needs of electricity customers.

Studying applications of advanced measurements, simulation and modeling and control to enhance modernize and support the future distribution grid
Studying energy customer adoption patterns of microgrid technology
Creating a real-time demand response infrastructure to manage and link electric supply- and demand-side systems
Leveraging clean vehicles to enable a clean and reliable electricity grid, by deploying plug-in vehicles and enabling vehicle-grid integration
New methods, tools, and technologies to protect the reliability and enhance the efficiency of the U.S. electric power system
